declaração
recuso o fetiche do novo e o do formato.
statement
i refuse the fetish of novelty and of format.
i collect without predation what is deemed trivial and subjugated - organisms, surfaces - and rise up against the structures that determine where and how one is permitted to exist.
i inhabit the technology that promises mobility and deliver what it conceals: centralization, the cost of access, disposal as a political decision.
i do not observe these tensions from the outside: i operate within them, with them, and against them.
my work does not seek to resolve. it questions how identities are constructed and erased.
i embrace unpredictability - not to throw myself into the abyss of freedom, but to remain in free fall.

As bélicas rasgam mapas; as civis dilaceram o tecido social.

How to fight unarmed in this war – 2026
I observe war as the spectacle of human failure.
Between trenches and algorithms, between tanks and trends, there is a pedagogy of battle that spans centuries. Sun Tzu’s philosophy of winning without fighting emphasizes avoiding direct combat when the disparity of forces is abyssal. War is war, whether physical or symbolic. Armed conflicts tear maps apart; civil wars lacerate the social fabric. There are silent wars that are equally violent. Without bombings, but with programmed invisibility. There are no tanks, but rather platforms and dissonant metrics, predatory contracts, and a technological asymmetry that converts creation into data, art into content, and the artist into a statistic. To fight unarmed in this scenario is to insist.
To produce in scarcity.
To create without sponsorship, to promote without a budget, to survive without guarantees.
It is making precarity an aesthetic language.
Faced with this disproportion - cultural corporations on one side, exhausted bodies on the other - what remains is the strategy of containment: safeguarding creative integrity, shielding time, protecting authorship, weaving subterranean alliances. Forming collectives like one builds bomb shelters.
Because to react unprepared to the crossfire is to succumb to abusive contracts, to unpaid exposure, to the promise of visibility as counterfeit currency. So we learn basic defense techniques: legal notions, minimal support networks, independent circulation. Even so, when there is an escape route, it often leads into another minefield.
Governments and civilians, throughout history, wield weapons to impose narratives. On the cultural front, what is imposed are trends, biased open calls, algorithms pierced by private tastes, and the commodification of creativity in a predatory and vexatious manner. Victory is not achieved through the preserved integrity of both sides, but through the exhaustion of one.
And when we fail - when the project secures no funding, the audience doesn’t arrive, the rent is due - there is no border to cross. The war is not "out there": it pierces the body, occupies the mind, corrodes the silence. It is like an ancient, rusted drying rack, forgotten in the backyard: it bears the weight of garments anointed with toil, creaking beneath the oxide deposited by time. It is neither beautiful nor new, but it contorts and remains standing, "superior to time and inferior to shit."
Such is the qualified independent: carrying the dampness of frustrations, bending to the wind of urgencies - and without much insistence - still upholding what needs to exist in the light. Outside the institutions, what is left for contemporary art is a permanent civil resistance. A poetic state of siege in which fighting does not mean conquering territories, but preserving the last traces of what is human.
